2. User Agreement

 

By using our website or booking any of our services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have legal guardian consent, and you agree to comply with these Terms and our Privacy Policy. This agreement is formed the moment you access the site or confirm a booking.

 

3. Intellectual Property

 

All content displayed on this website—including but not limited to text, logos, images, video, audio, tour materials, and branding—is the exclusive property of Tanuki Stories unless otherwise stated. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of any content without written consent is strictly prohibited.

 

4. Acceptable Use

Infringes on the rights of others, including intellectual property rights;

If you submit content to Tanuki Stories (e.g., testimonials, reviews, photos), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for promotional or editorial purposes. You affirm that you have the legal right to share such content and that it does not infringe on third-party rights.

 

6. Booking, Payments, Cancellations, and Refunds

 

Booking: All tours and services must be booked in advance through our official booking system, contact form, or by direct email. Confirmation of the booking is sent after full payment is received.

Payment: Payments are accepted in Japanese yen. Prices include all applicable taxes unless otherwise specified. Your booking is only confirmed once full payment is received.

Cancellations: You may cancel your booking free of charge up to 28 days before the scheduled service. Cancellations made within 28 days of the scheduled date are non-refundable. This includes cancellations due to changes in travel plans, weather, illness, or any other reason.

Refunds: Refunds are issued only in accordance with the cancellation policy above or in cases where Tanuki Stories must cancel the tour or service due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, guide illness). Refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 10 business days.

7. Purchasing Terms for Tanuki Stories Walking Tours

 

By booking a walking tour with Tanuki Stories, you acknowledge and agree to the following conditions:

 

a. Appropriate Attire

Participants must wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for walking.

Some tours involve uneven terrain, stairs, slopes, and long walking distances, so proper footwear is essential.

b. Personal Health & Allergies

Participants are responsible for monitoring their own allergies and dietary restrictions.

If you have any food allergies, you must exercise caution when consuming food during the tour, as the guide is not responsible for allergic reactions.

Be mindful of your surroundings and of the food consumed by fellow participants if you have severe allergies.

c. Physical Condition & Safety

Participants must be in good physical condition and capable of walking for extended periods.

Some tours include uneven surfaces, stairs, gravel paths, steep inclines, and potentially slippery areas. Caution is required at all times.

Tanuki Stories is not responsible for injuries resulting from falls, slips, or lack of attention while walking.

d. Travel Insurance Requirement

All participants are required to have valid travel insurance before joining the tour.

By booking and joining the tour, you confirm that your travel insurance covers medical emergencies, accidents, and cancellations.

Tanuki Stories assumes no liability for medical expenses, lost belongings, or other unforeseen issues that may occur during the tour.

e. Weather Considerations

Tours operate in various weather conditions. Please dress accordingly.

In the case of extreme weather (e.g., typhoons, heavy rain, snowstorms), tours may be rescheduled or cancelled. In such cases, we will notify you as early as possible.

f. Limitation of Liability

 

Tanuki Stories is not liable for:

 

Personal injuries, losses, or damages incurred during tours;

Delays or service disruptions caused by transportation, weather, illness, or other external events;

Decisions made by users based on the information presented on our website or during tours.

Any third-party services (e.g., restaurants, transportation providers) not operated directly by Tanuki Stories.

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience and accurate information, but we do not guarantee error-free content or uninterrupted availability.

All services and content are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties—express or implied—regarding accuracy, reliability, or suitability for a particular purpose. Use of the website and participation in tours is at your own risk.
